How to setup a floating license, using an ethernet card that is not attached to a network?
Solution 1:
1. Install the Ethernet card.
2. Be sure that TCP/IP is installed/running on the pc.
Win95:
Enter Control Panels - Network - Configuration Tab
WinNT:
Enter Control Panels - Network - Protocols tab
3. Setup the TCP/IP properties, so that the IP address is
Specified (as opposed to Obtained from network or Obtained
automatically). Use any set of numbers in the available
fields.
Win95:
Control Panels - Network - Configuration tab - Select
TCP/IP - Properties - Specify IP Address
WinNT:
Control Panels - Network - Protocols tab - Select
TCP/IP - Properties - Specify IP Address
4. Setup and run the FlexLM License Server.
