Solution 1: The new families are the 1700E and 1700EL. They are drop-in replacements for the 1700D/L but a soft ware update to programmer's programming algorithms is required. Please note that this change only applies to the 1700D/L devices up to the 17256D/L commericial and industrial grades. In addition, the 17512L/1701L/1702L/1704L devices are not being obsoleted.
