Problem Description:
Date: 9/98

Urgency: Standard

General Description:

Currently, the JTAG Progammer is unavailable from the Foundation Project Manager for use with FPGAs.
This is a bug in the Project Manager. The JTAG Programmer does in fact support the XC4000, Sparta
n, XC5200, and Virtex families, yet it is currently unavailable for selection from within Foundation .

Note: This issue is fixed with the F1.5i release.

Solution 1:

To invoke the JTAG Programmer for any of the supported FPGA device families, you must open it from t he Windows Explorer. From the Explorer, double click on the file JTAGPGMR.EXE in the $XILINX\bin\nt
  directory.

Once the JTAG Programmer has opened, it is ready for you to use with your existing design files. Re fer to the online documentation for more information regarding using this tool.

You may also create a shortcut icon to this application if you wish, by dragging the file onto the W indows desktop.

Note: This issue has been fixed with the F1.5i release.
