Record #4708

Product Family: Software

Product Line: Synopsys

Product Part: Foundation Express API

Problem Title:
Foundation F1.5i/2.1i: Cannot initialize Automation - cannot find Synopsys registry

Problem Description:
Urgency: Standard

General Description:
When creating an HDL project in Foundation F1.5, the following error may occur:

Pcm: Cannot initialize Automation - Cannot find the Registry entry for Synopsys
      library path

Also, if you attempt to analyze a VHDL or Verilog file within a schematic
project by selecting one of the following in the HDL Editor:

Synthesis -> Check Syntax
Synthesis -> Synthesize
Project -> Create Macro

you will receive a message that states that the "Errors report not available"

Solution 1:

This occurs simply because the FPGA Express tools have not been installed.
Make sure you have purchased a FND-EXP or FND-BSX package and you have used
the CD key code found on the back of the CD jewel case.

You can verify that FPGA Express has been installed by selecting
Start -> Programs -> Xilinx Foundation Series -> Accessories -> Foundation Express

Solution 2:

There may be a space in the directory path name.
