General Description:

In Foundation HDL editor when a user get warning that refers
to the extended message, it is not always clear how to access
the extended message.

For example suppose a user get the following error during syntax check:
Warning: L-1/c0 : #0 warning: this design contains assignment from wire
to reg. Please see the extended message for this warning for more
information. (VE-123)

How does the user access this extended message?


Solution 1:

Highlight the error code in the HDL Editor console window, then hit the F1 button. A Help dialog will come up with extended help on the error message.



Solution 2:

1) In Project Manager click on Help -> Foundation Help Contents.
2) In the tool column, click on Advanced Tools -> Standalone FPGA Express
3) in Find field type in the error number in the bracket.
e.g. (VE-123)
