f1.5isp1: When ABEL synthesis engine is run in NT 4.0 SP3, tkwdog process freezes computer (opening project, syntax check, synthesize, add to project)
Record #5695
Problem Title: Urgency: Hot General Description: When doing a synthesis check or compiling an ABEL design (using NT 4.0 SP3) the system spawns a tkwdog process that locks the system by dominating the systems CPU usage. Even after cancelling the syntax check the tkwdog process is actively absorbing all cpu usage. Then only resolution is to terminate the tkwdog process from the task manager. The problem with this is that the system then becomes unstable. Solution 1: This problem is caused by a name collision between the tkdata.dll and Hummingbird Exceed 6.1 or Hummingbird NFS Maestro v6.0 or later. A patch has been made to fix this problem and can be found at: ftp://ftp.xilinx.com/pub/swhelp/foundation/xabel152.zip The zip file contains the DLL file, tkdata.dll, and a readme.txt file End of Record #5695 - Last Modified: 09/10/99 14:59 |
