Problem Title:

2.1i Install: Uninstall sometimes doesn't appear in Add/Remove Programs

Problem Description:
Urgency: Standard

General Description:
The Uninstall entry sometimes doesn't appear in the Add/Remove Programs, even though the correct ent ries are in the Registry. And sometimes, when it does appear, double clicking it causes a DOS window
to open (correctly) and it disappears without any action taking place (incorrectly).

Solution 1:

Running the uninstall command from a command prompt runs the uninstall correctly.

Procedure:
Go into regedt32 (NT) or regedit (NT and W95/8), do this by clicking the Start button and selecting Run. Type in Regedit or Regedit32. Browse into
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Unistall, there
will be an entry for Xilinx Alliance or Xilinx Foundation. Within the appropriate folder are two strings: DisplayName and UninstallString. Double click UninstallString and copy the entry to the clipboard (Ctrl-C), and then paste that string into a command window (right click if QuickEdit is active in the command window), and press Enter, the uninstall will run successfully.
