General Description: How do you setup the printer for a workstation tool.
For Example: Timing Analyzer, Floorplanner, Epic, Fpga_editor, etc.
Solution 1:
Here are the steps to setup/install a printer.
1- Start the application you wish to print from: Timing Analyzer, Floorplanner, etc.
2- Select File -> Print.
3- In the Printer Dialog select "Properties". This will open the Printer Setup dialog.
4- Select "Install". This will open the Printer Installation dialog.
5- Select "Add Printer ...". This will open the Add Printer dialog.
6- Select "Define New Port...". This will open the Ports dialog.
7- In the "Edit Port:" field type a port name and command. For example: printer=lp
Then click on Add-Replace.
8- In the Printer Devices window select the correct printer, also select the newly
created port. Then select "Add Selected". Then select "Dismiss".
9- Then select "Dismiss" in the Printer Installation dialog.
10- In the Printer Setup dialog select "Options". Select the newly added printer.
Then click on "OK". Then click on "Save".
11- Then click on "OK" to print the document.
