NGD2VHDL: Generate Pin File (-pf) option in NGD2VHDL does not include all pins listed in VHDL

Record #6587

Product Family: Software

Product Line: FPGA Implementation

Product Part: ngd2vhdl

Product Version: 2.1i

Problem Title:
NGD2VHDL: Generate Pin File (-pf) option in NGD2VHDL does not include all pins listed in VHDL

Problem Description:
Urgency: Standard

General Description:

NGD2VHDL can be ran with the -pf option to create a .pin file.
The .pin file should contain a listing of all the input and output pins, however, the .pin file does not appear to be written correctly in some instances.

Solution 1:

The pin file is primarily for use with the Cadence software, used to generate a pin file list. This option was created in parallel with ngd2ver and was put into ngd2vhdl for consistency. This should not be an option for ngd2vhdl, and will be taken out of future version of ngd2vhdl. If a pin file list is needed the .pad file can be used, whicih lists all the pin numbers and names in numbered order, and name ordered.
