Virtex SSO: how did we come up with the power/ground pairs in the Select IO application notes

Problem Description:
Urgency: Standard

Problem Description:

How did we come up with the power/ground pairs numbers in the Select IO
application notes(Xilinx XAPP133)
What are the power/ground pair numbers for different Virtex packages

Solution 1:

The power and ground pair numbers for Virtex packages are estimates.
These numbers may not match with the actual Vcco and GND numbers for a
specific package. As the device size increases, the number of power and
gound pairs increases as well.

The application note serves a guideline on maximum amount of IOs can be switched at the same time to avoid ground bounce. However, user's actual condition will have a big effect on gound bounce.
