Problem Title:
Foundation Simulator: Schematic - Problem when a hierarchy tap drives logic internal of a
macro
Problem Description:
Urgency: Standard
General Description: In Foundation Schematic, you create a macro.
In this macro there is a net connected to an output hierarchy
connector as well as connected as an input to other internal logic.
When this net is selected from schematic and then simulated, the
simulator lists this net as an output, and simulation for this signal is
correct. However, the logic that this net drives is not correct - the
problem is that the simulator does not recognize that this signal is
also an input to other logic within the macro, and therefore the input
is never actually passed to this logic. This results in incorrect
simulation.
Solution 1:
Currently, there are two work arounds available:
1) Run the signal through a buffer before connecting it to the hierarchy
connector. This causes the simulator to not recognize this internal
signal as an output only.
2) In the Foundation Simulator, use the Signal -> Add Signals component
selection window. Then scroll through the hierarchy, and select the
output of the logic that actually creates / drives the net.
