Problem Description:
Urgency: Standard
General Description: When installing Alliance 2.1i on a Solaris machine, the
following error occurs:
setup failed while processing the FileCopier.Readme
If the setup.log is examined, the following is there:
NumCmdLineArgs = 0
NumCmdLineArgs = 0
error: /software/xilinx2.1i/README.txt is not writable
error: couldn't copy /cdrom/solalli/./README.txt to /software/xilinx2.1i/README.txt
one task failed
Solution 1:
This seems to be a result of bad communication between the CDROM and the
file system. A good workaround is to make a local copy of the cd image (cp -r *
destination) and install from there.
