Record #7156
Product Family: Software 2.1i, 1.5i, 1.4 NGDBUILD, EDIF2NGD, COREGEN: Warning: basnu:74: invalid target package PQ240 (or BG256) ignored. Problem Description: Urgency: standard General Description: When implementing a design that has a core netlist in it generated by Coregen, the following warning appears: ngdbuild: edif2ngd: Warning: basnu:74: invalid target package PQ240 (or BG256) ignored. Solution 1: This warning can be ignored. Coregen specifies the following default part types in the EDIF implementation netlists that it creates: Spartan and 4000 families: XC4013E-PQ240-3 Virtex families: XCV100-BG256 This is done because some kind of parttype value must be specified in the EDIF netlist file. Since the actual target device that the customer intends to use is not known to Coregen when the core is generated, a default device is used. This is not a problem because when edif2ngd is invoked by the Xilinx Design Manager, the parttype specified by the user will override this default device and will be used for the actual implementation.
