General Description:
When carrying out an installation on an HP machine of Alliance 2.1i there is no option to do a
network install.
Solution 1:
Most UNIX systems install to a network
drive anyway. The network install option is there on PCs as
they need to install some DLLs in to the WINDOWS directory to guarantee
that the GUIS will work (ie MFC style ones). This has to be done on each
machine. They can then access the XILINX tools across the network. For
UNIX there is no windows directory and inherently everything runs across
a network. Thus with the correct environment settings all of the
necessary dynamic library file can be found for the tools (both cmdline
and GUI based to work).
