2.1i 4KX* PAR - Application error has occured. Exception:Access Violation (0xc0000005), Address: 0x039313b9
Record #7245
Product Family: Software A case has been seen where PAR crashes due to optimization of TBUF locations. TBUF sets are created in multiples of 4. So if a group has only 2 components, it will still have a length of 4. A check within the optimization code indexes sites over the length of the group starting from the left-most placed comp. If the comps are placed at the edge of the chip, then such a check will access locations beyond the bounds of the memory allocated. The occurrence of this case is hence fairly high. An application error has occurred and and an application error log is being generated. par.exe Exception: access violation (0xc0000005), Address: 0x039313b9 This error message occurs on NT, but the design implements. This error also occurs on the workstation. The design errors out in PAR with the following message in the FE.LOG "PROGRAM TERMINATED ABNORMALLY" The design errors out in win95 also. Solution 1: Workaround: The problem can be worked around by prohibiting the right most TBUF sites. PROHIBIT = SITE TBUF_R*C24.0 ; PROHIBIT = SITE TBUF_R*C24.1 ; Solution 2: This problem is fixed in the latest 2.1i Service Pack available at: http://support.xilinx.com/support/techsup/sw_updates/ End of Record #7245 - Last Modified: 10/18/99 10:13 |
