Problem Title:
Foundation 2.1i Schematic: Warning: multiple drivers or sourceless/loadless nets detected.
Problem Description:
Urgency: Standard
General Description: When implementing a design with two or
more top level schematics, creating a netlist in the schematic editor
(options->create netlist) generates a sourceless/loadless
warning for every hanging net that runs across the pages.
Warning: multiple drivers or sourceless/loadless nets detected
Sourceless net: <net name>
Loadless net: <net name>
Solution 1:
This is a known problem with the integrity test feature of the
Foundation Schematic Editor. Currently, this feature does
not correctly analyze nets across multiple pages. Instead,
it sees them as sourceless, which is why these messages are
generated.
Therefore, these messages can be safely ignored or disabled.
In order to disable the warnings, open the Schematic Editor.
Select Options -> Integrity Test Options...
Deselect:
Sourceless nets
Loadless nets
Doing this will cause the integrity test to ignore these options.
What this means is that you will not be warned of such problems
at the netlist level. However, the implementation tools will still
perform the standard design rules checking. Therefore, if problems
do actually exist, they will be caught at the appropriate stage during
the implementation process (for example, multiple drivers will be
flagged in the translate stage; loadless nets will be flagged in the
map stage).
Therefore, these options can be disabled with confidence that
problems in the design will still be found by the tools.
