Cases have been seen where running par using 2.1i fails with the error message:
FATAL_ERROR:Utilities:basagconjgradient.c:202:1.1.4.2
- CG SOLVER: residual after solving > residual before solving.

This problem has been determined to be due to a bug in a placement algorithm
that only fails for simple test cases with either very few components, or very few
unconstrained components.
Solution 1:
This problem is scheduled to be fixed in the next major release (as
yet unnamed) following version 2.1i.
