Record #7507
Product Family: Software CoolRunner/XPLA Professional Simulator: What does the "Bitmap allocation error. Possible too many signals" mean? Problem Description: Urgency: Standard General Description: What does the simulation error: "Bitmap allocation error. Possible too many signals" mean? Solution 1: The simulator error "Bitmap allocation error. Possible too many signals" has to do with the video resources and the number of colors selected on the machine. For example, this could appear in a pz3960 simulation with about 300 signals shown and a large number of colors were selected for the machine's video. This could cause the simulator to not open reporting the above error. By setting the machine's video to 256 colors, the error will disappear as well as permitting the simulator to run faster. To change your machine's number of video colors, follow the steps below: 1. Open the Control Panel window and click on the Display icon. 2. Under the Settings tab, you will see a list box called Color Palette. 3. Choose the color setting with 256 colors. 4. Push the OK button. End of Record #7507 - Last Modified: 02/07/00 19:06 |
