Problem Title:
FPGA Editor 2.1i: When routing Probes, It appears to freeze, Not Responding, takes a long time

Problem Description:
Urgency: Standard

Problem Description:
When I am trying to set a probe in FPGA Editor, my
display appears to freeze. WinNT's task manager
says "Not Responding". This continues after the
probe window comes back from the probe selection
screen. You are unable to select anything in the
window. Why?

Solution 1:

This most often occurs in Virtex and very full designs
that use a PCF file. The program has not froze, it just
takes a long time. If you let it sit for a while
(depending on the speed and memory of computer), the
window will come back with the correct probe routed
to the pin.

Workaround: Remove the PCF file from the directory
to another, or do not specify a PCF file when opening
FPGA Editor. The PCF causes the Editor to route
based upon the timing and physical constraints for the
design
.
