Cable - MultiLINX Cable Drive strength capabilities and specifications

Record #8098

Problem Title:
Cable - MultiLINX Cable Drive strength capabilities and specifications

Problem Description:
Urgency: standard

Problem description:

What is the maximum load that MultiLINX can drive?
What are the voltage characteristics?

Solution 1:

The MultiLINX cable was designed as a configuration prototyping tool for
1 to 4	Xilinx programmable logic devices, which are connected using the
MultLINX's flying wires. If you need the MultiLINX cable to drive a large
number of loads, its best to use buffers to maintain the MultiLINX signal
integrity.

The worst-case load for each of the MultiLINX flying wires:

max capacitive load: 100pF
max pullup resistance: 500 ohms
max pulldown resistance 5000 ohms

Solution 2:

3.3V and 5V Vih,Vil,Voh,Vol

Vih(min) = 1.65V
Vih(max) = 5V

Vil(min) = 0V
Vil(max) = 1.5V

Voh(min) = 2.4V
Voh(max) = 5V

Vol(min) = 0V
Vol(max) = 0.4V

Solution 3:

2.5V Vih,Vil,Voh,Vol

Voh(max) = 2.5V
Voh(min) = 2..0V

Vol(max) = 0.4V
Vol(min) = 0V

Vih(max) = 5V
Vih(min) = 1.65V

Vil(max) = 1.5V
Vil(min) = 0V
