Product Line: CPLD Implementation

Product Part: jtagpgmr

Product Version: 2.1is2

Problem Title:

2.1i JTAG Programmer - ERROR:JTag - Error of type 'Unlocatable package file. Check XACT path and package name encountered while parsing BSDL package ...

Problem Description:
Urgency: General

General Description:

Using the JTAG Programmer and third party BSDL files, the following
error has been seen:

ERROR:JTag - Error of type 'Unlocatable package file. Check XACT path
and package name encountered while parsing BSDL package ...'

Solution 1:

The JTAG Programmer BSDL parser has a problem with the third-party
packages that define the boundary-scan cells. Fortunately, JTAG
Programmer ignores the boundary-scan cell information for in-active
devices and only extracts the instruction and instruction register information. There are two workarounds currently available:

Comment-out the third-party package statement. (Or replace it with the
standard package statement.)

Solution 2:

Use the generic.bsd file as described in solution 2707
http://www.xilinx.com/techdocs/2707.htm

Insert the appropriate instruction information.

The generic BSDL file is available at
http://www.xilinx.com/support/sw_bsdl.htm#MISC
