Record #8308

Product Family: Software

Product Line: LogiCore

Product Part: Coregen IP Modules

Problem Title:

2.1i COREGEN, C_IP4: "Illegal value FALSE for variable write_mif" when regenerating Coregen RAM for Virtex

Problem Description:
Urgency: standard

General Description:
When trying to regenerate the Dual Port and Single Port Block RAMs or Distributed Memories by reading in an XCO file generated using an earlier IP update release (C_IP2, C_IP3), the following error may appear in a popup:

"Illegal value FALSE for variable write_mif"

Solution 1:

Solution 2:

In the C_IP4 version of the Dual Port and Single Port Block RAMs and Distributed Memories, the WRITE_MIF option must be set to "True" so that the MIF file is always written out by the core.

Edit the .XCO file and change the value of the WRITE_MIF option from
"false" to "true", then regenerate the core by reading in the modified
.XCO.
