Virtex Configuration: INIT goes low
Record #8556
Problem Title:
Virtex Configuration: INIT goes low
Problem Description:
Urgency: Standard
General Description: What does it mean when INIT goes low?
Solution 1:
If INIT goes low, that means a frame error occurred. During configuration,
there are two CRC checks embedded in the bitstream- one just before
the last frame is loaded, and one at the very end of the bitstream. If one
of them fails, INIT will be pulled low and the device will stop configuring. Most
likely this means the device is getting an incorrect bit or bits, or the bitstream
is incorrect in some way. If INIT goes low, it does mean that the device
was synchronized, and recognizing packets.
Please see (Xilinx Solution 8110) if the device is being configured in
serial mode. LOUT writes can be embedded to see where the error happens,
and the DIN data should be correlated back to the bit file to see if it agrees
