Subject: Process Change Notification (PCN #95013) "A minor change in the part marking methodology utilized for Xilinx Products."

Products Affected: This PCN affects all PC, PQ, TQ, VQ, and HQ packages.

Change Description: The present package marking methodology for the above products is illustrated below, on the left. It is currently implemented with ink marking. The new marking methodology, illustrated below on the right, will utilize ink marking at the assembly subcontractor for the Xilinx logo, product type, product ID, assembly lot number and mask set/date code identification. The speed grade will be marked in laser or ink at Xilinx as indicated below.

Reason for Change: This change will reduce manufacturing cycle time and minimize marking errors. Marking of all product at the assembly subcontractor for the above referenced items will ensure mark orientation, enhance traceability, and increase product availability. Adding the speed marking after test (at Xilinx) will reduce cycle time and enhance product availability.

Qualification Samples: Samples with the combination ink/laser mark are available for qualification testing today. Contact your Xilinx sales representative for details.
