Subject: Process Change Notification (PCN96001). "A Change
in the Xilinx XC3100 Fabrication Process."
Products Affected: XC3120A (a new product), XC3130A, XC3142A,
XC3164A, XC3190A, and XC3195A.
Note: Please see PDN97006
for the latest status.
Change Description: The above products will be manufactured
in the 0.6µM triple layer metal CMOS process now in production at
Seiko Epson. This is the same process that is used to manufacture the XC4000E
and XC5200 lines of product.
Reason for Change: This change is being made both to increase
the availability of higher speed grades of these products, and to continue
the Xilinx program of evolutionary price reductions.
Qualification Data: Qualification data on sample members
of this family, along with data from other product families is attached.
Traceability: The product marking code can be used to
determine the mask generation of a particular product. Product fabricated
in the Seiko 0.6µM triple layer metal CMOS process carries the geometry
code "J". Please contact your sales representative if you wish a copy of
IVC0015, which lists these production codes.
Key Dates: Qualification samples of XC3130A, XC3142A,
XC3164A, XC3190A, & XC3195A manufactured with this process are available
now. Samples of the XC3120A will be available in May. The dates for last
buy and last guaranteed availability of the older Seiko product (0.8µM)
are 180 days and 360 days respectively after receipt of this notice.
Response: No response to this notification is required.
Requests for additional data or support should be made within 90 days of
