Subject: Change Notification (PCN97001) - Qualification of ASTRA Microtronics Technology in Batam, Indonesia as an assembly site for Xilinx PLCC packages

Products Affected: All PLCC products

Change Description: The addition of ASTRA Microtronics Technology in Batam, Indonesia, as a Qualified Assembly Facility for TQ and PQ product was previously announced on 30 June 1995 in PCN95004. ASTRA has been further qualified to assemble PLCC products for Xilinx.

Product Change: There are no changes in electrical or mechanical specifications. The package piece parts (mold compound, leadframe, etc.) as well as the manufacturing processes are totally compatible with the PLCC products that Xilinx currently supplies.

Reason For Change: To provide additional assembly capability for PLCC products. This change is part of our continuous effort towards improving total customer satisfaction.

Qualification Data: Xilinx previously performed a full on-site quality and technical audit of this facility in May, 1995 to verify ASTRA's conformance to Xilinx' and ISO9000 requirements. (ASTRA has 9002 certification). Reliability Qualification Testing was also performed at that time to support TQ and PQ production. Since that time Xilinx has continued to perform periodic annual audits of Astra. Summary qualification test data is enclosed for PLCC products.
