XILINX ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY OF
Fastest industry software available free for evaluation of Virtex®-II designs SAN JOSE, Calif., February 21, 2001—Xilinx Inc., (NASDAQ: XLNX) now has available an evaluation kit for the Foundation Integrated Synthesis Environment (ISETM) programmable logic development system. Foundation ISE 3.3i, the latest version of Xilinx® design software is included in this evaluation kit. Features of the evaluation kit The Foundation ISE evaluation kit contains everything required to create a design for all of the Xilinx leading programmable logic devices, including the new Virtex-II Platform FPGAs with densities up to 10 million gates, as well as the Spartan® series FPGAs, and XC9500TM CPLDs. The evaluation kit comes with a 60-day trial period. Version 3.3i Improved capabilities in version 3.3i of the Foundation ISE software includes new device and package support, faster design performance, and shorter runtimes based on enhanced timing estimations and reduced memory requirements. Xilinx place and route times are as fast as two minutes for the 200,000 gate, XC2S200TM Spartan-II device, and 30 minutes for the one million-gate XCV1000ETM Virtex-E device—twice as fast as the nearest competitor. With push-button flows, the timing-driven tools create designs that support I/O speeds in excess of 800 Mbps, and internal clock frequencies in excess of 300 MHz. Foundation ISE software is supported on Windows98, Windows 2000, and Windows NT; and Chinese, Korean, and Japanese Windows.
