README for CORE Generator Software Update to v1.4.0 and v1.4.1

This software update is an update to CORE Generator v1.4.0.  It
includes two new Cores plus a number of module updates.

New COREs:
----------
  - 8x8   Speed Optimized Fixed Point Multiplier
  - 12x12 Speed Optimized Fixed Point Multiplier

Updated COREs:
----------
  - SDA FIR Filter  Corrected a mapping error (the functionality did not change)  
  - PDA FIR Filter  Improved the use of Smart-IP by adjusting the  floor-plan 
                    and performance of the PDA FIR Filter.
  - Square Root     Improved VHDL Behavioral model


Requirements:
-------------
This update requires that CORE Generator v1.4.0 be installed
first.  The update is comprehensive and includes all previously
delivered updates to v1.4.0 of the CORE Generator.

Installation instructions

Please extract this file to your top level CORE Generator directory.

Bug Fixes:

- Square Root v1.13
  Fixes VHDL behavioral model integer overflow issue.

- Serial Adder v1.25
  Fixes inverted polarity clear-carry pin

- SDA FIR v1.17
  Includes the the previous added core plus two fixes:
  Fixes floorplan problem for 76-tap filters
  Fixes occasional sourceless net when trim-empty-roms=true

- PDA FIR v1.24
  Fixes terminal floorplanning issue

- Fixed-Point Multipliers
  Introduced for the first time since the c1_4 release

After the install is completed, the CORE Generator version will be
updated to 1.4.1.


This update supersedes the last update delivered 6/98
