Overview
Viewlogic offers Xilinx
designers a flexible environment for design entry and simulation. Designers
can do schematic based design entry with ViewDraw, language based design
with FPGA Express, or state machine entry with StateCAD. Any and all of
these representations can be combined hierarchically in a single design.
Each of these design entry types can be verified in the Fusion simulation
environment which consists of three digital simulation engines: ViewSim
for gate level simulation, VCS Express for Verilog simulation, and SpeedWave
for VHDL simulation. With Viewlogic's IntelliFlow FPGA design manager,
all of these tools are fully controllable from a single GUI. A long standing
partnership between Xilinx and Viewlogic translates into device support
for the latest families, architecture specific optimization, and release
coordination.
Xilinx
Interface and Library Support for Viewlogic
As part of the Xilinx
Alliance Series software, Xilinx ships the following to Viewlogic customers:

Viewlogic/Xilinx Interface
Guide
Chapter
1, "Introduction,"
describes the programs that comprise the Viewlogic interface and the Xilinx/Viewlogic
design flow for FPGAs and CPLDs.
Chapter
2, "Getting
Started," discusses how to configure your system to use Workview Office
on a PC. It also discusses how to use the Xilinx interface with Powerview
on workstations.
Chapter
3, "Design
Entry," describes how to use ViewDraw to enter a schematic design.
Not intending to document all the features of Workview Office, it discusses
in detail the features Xilinx designs need.
Chapter
4, "Functional
Simulation," describes how to prepare a simulation network for functional
simulation within the Viewlogic simulation environment. It also describes
how to load ViewTrace to view the simulation signals in a waveform format.
Chapter
5, "Implementing
a Design," describes how to use the Design Manager and the Flow Engine
to translate and implement your design.
Chapter
6, "Timing
Simulation," describes how to prepare a simulation network for timing
simulation within the Viewlogic simulation environment. It also describes
how to load ViewTrace to view the simulation signals in a waveform format.
Chapter
7, "Design
and Simulation Techniques," discusses aspects of schematic entry and
simulation you need to know to use Workview Office and Powerview effectively.
