XILINX DONATES $50,000 TO AID TAIWAN EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS SAN JOSE, Calif., September 24, 1999— Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ:XLNX) announced today that it will contribute $50,000 to assist victims of the Taiwanese earthquake. The donation will be made to the Tzu-Chi Foundation of Northern California. In addition to the $50,000 donation, Xilinx, in accordance with the company's adopted Corporate Charitable Matching Program, will match individual employee contributions up to $250 per employee. "We feel a social responsibility to aid in the relief of those effected by this tragedy," said Wim Roelandts, Xilinx CEO. "We have close ties with the Taiwanese community. Thankfully no employees of Xilinx, or those of our business partners, were injured in the earthquake. We hope this contribution will relieve the suffering in Taiwan, and our sympathies go out to all the victims and their families." Xilinx has chosen the Tzu-Chi Foundation based upon their solid reputation as an international charity and relief organization whose work currently spans over 20 countries across the globe. The foundation was established in Hualien, Taiwan in March 1966. All of the $50,000 donation will go toward relief efforts related to the recent quake in Taiwan. About Xilinx
