SAN JOSE, Calif., November 9, 1998—Xilinx, Inc., (NASDAQ:XLNX), today announced the promotion of Steve Haynes to vice president, worldwide sales. Haynes replaces Scott Brown, who has been with Xilinx since 1985 and announced his intention to retire earlier this year. Brown will remain with Xilinx to assist during the transition and will continue as a consultant to the company. Xilinx expects to name a replacement for Haynes within the next month. Haynes joined Xilinx 11 years ago as a regional sales manager in the Northeast, was promoted to area sales director in 1988, and has held his most recent position as vice president, North American sales, since 1995. Haynes has over 25 years of sales and marketing experience in the semiconductor industry, including tenure at National Semiconductor and Silicon Systems. "Steve has played a key role in building Xilinx into the successful company it is today," said Wim Roelandts, president and chief executive officer. "Steve possesses excellent knowledge of our sales channels and process and his promotion represents the ideal continuity for our customer base."
