SAN JOSE, Calif., December 11, 1997—Xilinx, Inc., (NASDAQ:XLNX), today announced that its quality processes have been certified by two key standards-setting organizations.

The Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) in Columbus, Ohio, granted full Qualified Manufacturer Listing (QML) status to Xilinx effective November 20, making Xilinx one of only 18 QML suppliers in the world. The QML program qualifies processes and materials rather than individual products or production lots and will allow Xilinx to bring new military-grade products to market more rapidly. Xilinx received transitional QML status a year ago. Since 1988, Xilinx has supplied high reliability products in compliance with MIL-PRF-38535, appendix A, through the Standard Microcircuit Drawing (SMD) program, offering more than 100 military grade products.

In addition, Xilinx expanded the scope of its ISO registration during November from ISO 9002 to ISO 9001. Since October 1995, Xilinx has been ISO 9002 compliant, a certification that covers quality systems for manufacturing and testing of programmable logic devices. The new scope of registration covers the entire design control process.

The ISO standards, developed by the International Organization for Standardization, provide an international benchmark for quality systems and a foundation for continuous improvement. Once again, through the ISO 9001 registration, Xilinx has demonstrated that its quality systems are models for quality assurance in design, development, manufacturing and testing.
