PROGRAM: Configuration, PROMs PROBLEM: Customers have reported that the use of AT&T flash serial proms may cause problems with configuration of XC4000 devices in fast configuration mode. CAUSE: The access time for an AT&T 1765 is 250ns, which may be too slow for XC4000 fast configuration mode. Solution 1: If reconfigurability of the PROM is not a major requirement, use a XILINX prom.
