What does abreviation "BSC" mean in package dimensions![]() Record #2027
Problem Title: The Legend for most of the package diagrams in the data book contain a parameter "BSC". What does this abreviation stand for. Solution 1: BSC Represents theoretical exact dimension or dimension target. BSC is short for "BASIC" or "Basic Space between Center." It is a numerical value used to describe the theoretical exact size, shape or location of a feature or datum target. It is the basis from which permissible variations are established by tolerances on other dimensions, in notes or by feature control symbols. Basic dimensions are shown on the drawing enclosed in a rectangle. Ref. (short for Reference) is also shown by some dimensions of package drawings. These reference callouts state the nominal dimensions normally without tolerance. End of Record #2027 - Last Modified: 10/06/98 16:09 |
