Foundation F1.5, ABEL: Use" Schematic" Project Flow for top-level ABEL designs

Record #4353

Product Family: Software

Product Line: Aldec

Product Part: Foundation Project Manager

Problem Title:
Foundation F1.5, ABEL: Use" Schematic" Project Flow for top-level ABEL designs

Problem Description:
Date: 9/98

Urgency: Standard

General Description:

There are 2 Project Flow Types in Foundation F1.5: Schematic and HDL.
When doing a top-level ABEL design, be sure that the Foundation Project Flow
Type is set to "Schematic." While "HDL" flow may seem more appropriate, it
is actually intended only for use with VHDL or Verilog top-level designs.

Solution 1:

The Project Flow type is set when the project is created. If you have created
a project and chosen the wrong project type, you must create a new project to
correct the problem; there is no way to change the project flow type once a
project has been created.

Once the project has been created with a Project Flow type of Schematic, be
sure that you "add" the ABEL file to the project by either selecting Document
-> Add in the Project Manager, or by choosing Project -> Add to Project from
within the HDL Editor.
