FPGA Configuration: INIT goes low on a certain frame, possible causes.
Record #4619
Product Family: Documentation
Product Line: FPGA Apps.
Product Part: Configuring FPGAs/Processor
Problem Title:
FPGA Configuration: INIT goes low on a certain frame, possible causes.
Problem Description:
Urgency: Standard
General description:
The INIT Pin goes LOW on a certain frame indicating a Frame
Error has occurred during configuration. All the configuration
pins seem to be steady (not a noise problem). The Preamble
(0010) coming out from the DOUT Pin is correct. The Data input
matches the bit file.
Solution 1:
The Data Frame Error (INIT goes LOW) may also indicate a
corrupted bit file. If a bit file has been ported through
e-mail or ftp site, it is possible that the bit file gets
corrupted during the transfer.
If the file is transferred using ASCII mode, try using
binary mode or tranfer it in a compressed mode to avoid
corruption. Tranfering using ASCII mode might add extra
carriage return and line feeds to the bit file.
