Problem Description:
Urgency: Standard

General Description:
The Foundation/Alliance install setup program is terminating during
initialization (after running setup.exe) with one of the following errors:
    * Setup Error 102,104, 105, 112, or 301
    * Installation hangs
    * General Protection Fault (GPF)
    * Program has performed an illegal operation

The following reloutions are the most common causes of install
problems. They originally appeared in article number Q100198

Solution 1:

There may be a conflict with a program that is running in the background
     - screen saver or virus scanning program.

Shut down any programs running in the background and run the
installation again.



Solution 2:

Make sure the user has write privileges to system directories.
A system administrator may need to install the software.



Solution 3:

Minimize the number of drivers that are loaded by editing the autoexec.bat
and config.sys files. Then run the installation again.



Solution 4:

Make sure that uninstaller (IsUnist.exe, IsUn16.exe, Uninst.exe, or Uninst16.exe) is not marked as read-only if it already exists on the user's system.
These files would be located in the Windows directory.
