Answers Database Alliance 1.5i Service Pack 2 is now available Record #5887 Product Family: Software Product Line: Merged Core Product Part: general Problem Title: Alliance 1.5i Service Pack 2 is now available Problem Description: The second Service Pack for version 1.5i is now available. This Service Pack contains 35 software updates since Service Pack 1, and over 100 updates since 1.5i. This Service Pack update is intended for use by all 1.5i Alliance customers. The 1_5i_sp2 update files are available from the Xilinx Software Update page: http://support.xilinx.com/support/techsup/sw_updates/index.htm The update files are divided into Alliance tool updates, Foundation tool updates and device family specific data file updates. For Foundation Service Pack information see: (Xilinx Solution #5936) For more information on the Coregen Update (note that Coregen has not changed since Service Pack #1) included with the Implementation Tools Update see: (Xilinx Solution #5630) To create a list of the specific issues that were addressed by 1.5i Service Pack 1, (which is now rolled into Service pack 2), go to: http://www.xilinx.com/support/support.htm and enter the string "5514" in the text box while making sure Answers Database is selected in the drop down. Click on Search. All the issues fixed in between 1.5i and SP1 will be listed. Solution 1: PC Installation Instructions for 1.5i Service Pack 2: 1. Download the 15i_sp2_alliance_pc.zip files, available from the      1.5i Software Updates Page: http://support.xilinx.com/support/techsup/sw_updates/index.htm 2. Unzip the downloaded file into an empty "staging" directory. 3. After the Alliance Update has been un-zipped into the staging directory,     there will be two self extracting .exe files named:     15i_sp2_imp_pc.exe and     15i_sp2_cgen_pc.exe (note that Coregen has not changed since     Service Pack #1)     These corespond to the Implementation Tools and Coregen Updates.     Each file self extracts and automatically runs a setup program. There     is no dependency between the two updates. They can be installed     alone or one after the other with no order dependencey.The setup     program will prompt for the location of your 1.5i installation. The     resulting install will only update files that are already in the 1.5i     environment. There are some new files (xc9500xv) that are an     exception to this rule. Solution 2: Work Station Installation Instructions for 1.5i Service Pack 2: 1. Download one of the appropriate 15i_sp2_alliance update files included     on the 1.5i Software Updates Page: http://support.xilinx.com/support/techsup/sw_updates/index.htm 2. Untar the downloaded file into an empty "staging" directory.     Example:     cd /home/staging_dir     gzip -d 15i_sp2_alliance_sol.tar.gz     tar xvf 15i_sp2_alliance_sol.tar 3.
