Dear Valued Customer, Subject: Product Discontinuation Notification (PDN99005). "Discontinuance of Certain Technology (0.8µM 10% shrink CMOS) Versions of the XC3000, XC3000A and XC3100A Product Families Change Description: Xilinx previously announced process
migrations and last time buy opportunities for the 0.8µM (10% shrink)
CMOS versions of the above product families as follows:
This PDN is being issued as a reminder to those customers who have not updated their designs or process documentation to accept the current production versions of these product families (manufactured in 0.6µM CMOS technology). Please note that main stream production of these product families migrated to the 0.6µM CMOS technology over 3 years ago. Product Change: Current product manufactured in the 0.6µM technology is form, fit and functionally equivalent to the earlier devices. This does not imply that design review may not be necessary if early designs contain race conditions that may be affected by the faster internal speeds of the 0.6µM product. Reason For Change: Environmental laws have outlawed use of some of the chemicals that were used in the manufacture of 0.8µM (10% shrink) CMOS product. Therefore, Xilinx no longer has access to manufacturing processes capable of making these products with the current mask set. Key Dates:
