Content Description
This module introduces the basic functions of how to use the HDL and State Editor for design entry.

Objectives
After completing this training, student will be able to:

  • List the different types of languages that can be used with the HDL editor
  • Describe how to insert code from the Language Assistant Library
  • List the five types of actions that can be used in a FSM diagram
  • State why large binary encoded state machines usually perform slower than one-hot encoded state machines in FPGAs
