| Q. What software tools are available for doing field upgradable
systems?
A. First of all, basic field upgrades can be done with standard tools that are available today. However, if you want to leverage the power of Java (rich in communications protocol, object oriented, platform independent), you can use Java API for Boundary Scan which leverages the JTAG standard. Or you can use JBits (available through 3rd parties) which is a proprietary API especially useful for high speed reconfiguration. |
