This particular version is only capable of generating 8x8, 12x12, 16x16 and 20x20 KCM macros with the options of signed/unsigned inputs and combinatorial/pipelined datapath. All macros are produced in the form of an EDIF netlist (file extension '.edn') which contains RPM (Relative Placement Macro) information resulting in a pre- defined shape, size, and performance. The information is displayed following the generation of the macro and in this text file. Installation ------------ Create a separate directory for this application and extract the contents of this archive to that location. Next, open up a DOS window (select Start/Programs/Command Prompt in Windows) and navigate to the KCM_VGEN directory. From there, type 'kcm_vgen'. The author recommends that the EDN netlists for the desired multipliers be created in this directory. They can then be manually copied over to the user's project directory. Please note that KCM_VGEN is a tactical solution only, and not an officially supported Xilinx product.
