Xilinx has several embedded programming and download solutions using an FPGA, CPLD, or Microprocessor as a controller. Xilinx FPGAs can be configured using several available methods: JTAG port; Slave serial port (single bit wide); or the SelectMAP (8 bit parallel) solution. Xilinx CPLD and ISPPROM are configured using the JTAG port. Configuration memory options include using standard (parallel) flash devices (with an embedded controller) or Xilinx XC1800 ISP PROM devices.
