The following are some helpful links to be used during your tenure in the CSCI 5011 course.

• E-mail list: There are two links for the e-mail list, the archives page and the e-mail address to submit to the list.

• Cool Stuff
  • I've seen this clock JavaScript floating around the Internet for some time. I'm not sure who to credit with its development, but someone obviously put some time into it. If you know who's it is, please e-mail me at tarnoffetsu.edu.
• General design concepts
  • A great reference for general design concepts is the Yale Style Manual.
  • To help you with sizing your pages for standard monitor sizes, check out either the Yale Style Manual-Design grid example (a duplicate can be found here) or my 1024x768 desktop image for 640x480 and 800x600 window sizing.
• Help with the basics of using a PC
  • Learnthat.com's tutorial on folders and files.
• Help with HTML
  • A great source of tutorials and information on web authoring can be found at Web Monkey, a service of Lycos.
• Help with some HTML editors
  • For those of you who are interested in using the Macromedia Homesite HTML editor, you can find a Homesite tutorial here. It is provided by Providence College.
• Web Programming
  • Free Java Applets by the Java Boutique
  • The Web is plentiful with free, downloadable JavaScript. Yahoo!'s JavaScript Programming Page, has a number of download sites for these scripts.
• Domain Name Selection
  • Domain name availability/registration through Network Solutions
  • Suggestions toward selecting a Domain Name, by Spirited Horse.  (Note: they have random samples appearing on the page that are occasionally offensive.)
