TOPIC: IR 2109 Inter-process communication can hang unnecessarily It was noted that the current design of protected types was intended only to provide a mechanism for exclusive access to shared data. It was not intended for modeling IPC. Peter supplied an email which analyzes this problem as an instance of interprocess communication issues related to transaction level modeling. Since an extension to the language will be needed to solve this general problem, we will forward this as an enhancement request, instead of trying to deal with the specific example. Chuck will incorporate Peter's comments and forward as an enhancement request. ACTION: Chuck to forward. TOPIC: IR 2099 Alias declarations introduce homographs Peter provided suggested rewording which makes the definition of "alias-equivalent" unnecessary. He also examined his wording in light of two examples, one which should be legal, and another which should be illegal.
