Note: These minutes are incomplete. All relevant issues have been
dealt with by the July 17 meeting.

TOPIC: Comments from John Shields on VHPI related issues.

John Shields, as a member of the VHPI committee, provided useful
feedback on several VHPI related issues:
213 Can a force signal assignment update ports of mode IN?
   Accepted proposed solution.
220 Inconsistent use of vhpiIntT and int
   Accepted proposed solution.
229 Is type vhpiIntT signed or unsigned?
   Accepted proposed solution.
233 Vhpi_user.h requires enum types contents update/completion
   Added several substantive comments
Changes were made in response to his comments.
244 Ballot response: Make VHPI optional
John agreed that it was not feasible to "Move VHPI to an
Appendix -- Annex and stat that it is optional." There was
not agreement about requirements for a minimal implementation.

ACTION: Chuck to communicate status of 233 and 234 to VHPI.

TOPIC: Bugzilla 242 Simple typo in D4.2

Resolution accepted.

ACTION: Change status to resolved, fixed (done).

TOPIC: Bugzilla 243 PSL-specific reserved words

The proposal, to identify PSL-specific reserved words, is
accepted.

ACTION: Assign to Peter (done).

TOPIC: Bugzilla 244 Ballot response: Make VHPI optional

(see above). Peter worked with Bill Hanna on a
compromise, which identified minimal requirements with
respect to VHPI for conforming tools. It was agreed that
a clarifying comment would be added to the LRM.

ACTION: Peter to prepare ballot response document (done).

TOPIC: Bugzilla 245 References in both normative section and bibliography

It was agreed to move normative references out of bibliography.

ACTION: Assign to Peter (done).

TOPIC: Bugzilla 246 Typos

Proposed solutions were accepted. It was noted that adding
another predefined attribute whose name matched a reserved word
was not a significant issue, since VHDL-AMS has done this in several
cases.

ACTION: Change status to resolved, fixed (done).

TOPIC: Bugzilla 247 Use of "bit" vs. "element"

Undefined references to "bit" have been replaced by "element".

ACTION: Change status to resolved, fixed (done).

TOPIC: Bugzilla 248 Wrong case for TRUE

Related issue for False was discovered. Similar issue for
BOOLEAN was previously resolved.

ACTION: Change status to resolved, fixed.

TOPIC: Bugzilla 249 Ballot comments from Alex Zamfirescu

Alex pointed out some issues, minor typos and confusing wording.
However, his statement that there are newer versions of IEEE Std 754-1985
and IEEE Std 854-1987 need to be investigated, since it appears that these
standards were reaffirmed without changes, so the original year numbers are
correct (this was confirmed on 12 July 2008).

ACTION: Assign to Peter, then change status to resolved, fixed (done).
