P1666 update

Hi,

I have been informed that NesCom has recommended approval of the P1666-2010 PAR. This recommendation has been sent to the IEEE Standards Board for final approval. The Standards Board will vote on this and other items in an email ballot set to end February 4.

We are very close to being able to start detailed technical work. The IEEE has been working to get John Aynsley and Sofie Vandeputte under contract, while OSCI and the IEEE have been negotiating a contract that will have OSCI provide the funding for John and Sofie. The discussions are very close to being completed on all sides.
