analog function call

All,

I just found out that the standard prohibits analog functions to be called
from analog functions. Is there a particular reason for this restriction?
I couldn't find any such restrictions in Verilog 1364-2001 or
SystemVerilog 1800-2005.

The standard (LRM 2.2) says in section 4.6.3 that an analog function shall
only be called within an analog block. As analog functions are defined
outside analog blocks this prohibits analog function calls from within
another analog function's body. Also it makes the first restriction on
analog functions (an analog function shall not call itself) superfluous...

Regards,
Marq
