Attendees: Jim Barby, U Waterloo Marq Kohl, Philips Martin O'Leary, Cadence Graham Helwig, ASTC Geoffrey Coram, Analog Patrick O'Halloran, Tiburon 1) Action item review: Shalom sent some responses to the reflector on questions that came up last time, which cleared up the macros in numbers question from 2.5.1. Sri was not there to report on whether Shalom's e-mail on SV strings conflicts with the string parameters in AMS LRM 2.2; Martin agreed to take over this action item. Jonathan did not add a mantis item for unit prefixes (yzYZ); Martin took this action item also. No progress was reported on the character set (ASCII?) for 1364. 2) merged_lex review, continued: 2.6.3: suggest adding sentence to say that simulator shall issue a warning for unknown escape sequence (eg \q -- anything not in the table) table says "less than 3 characters" but it should be "fewer"; that's a problem in 1364. 2.7 2nd paragraph: qualify it as *simple* identifier In a few places (2.7.1, 2.7.2), "non-escaped identifier" should read "simple identifier" per the original definition in 2.7 Question as to whether "." in a escaped identifier needs any special mention. Resolution: no. 2.7.3 talks about $ for "user-defined functions", which is Syntax 2-3 has references to Annex A, but Syntax 2-2 does not; Graham will add references to Annex A in all syntax boxes. Marq noted that 2.7.4 gives the ASCII value for ` but no values for specific characters are given elsewhere (eg, not for \) 2.8 need to remove clause about not standardizing on any particular attributes, since 2.8.1 does. 2.8.1 Graham will make desc and units bullet items, so that it is easier to add others in the future. 2.8.3 Syntax presented for attributing declarations but not expressions; this is how 1364 is done -- some examples in 2.8.2 have attributed expressions, and it appears that the attributes follow the expression: a = b + (* mode = "cla" *) c; -GeoffreyReceived on Wed Apr 26 06:55:03 2006
