Hello Don, well here is a couple of pages of one of the LRM chapters done in OpenOffice 2.0. It is very rough but gives you an idea of the sort of things that would need to be converted, things like variables, chapter references (to current and other documents), etc. If I was to do this properly in Openoffice, I would use a master document and a template to ensure consistency, similar to the current word/framemaker templates. I have no idea what OpenOffice is like to edit large publications, with multiple documents organized as a book.
